Plato: the philosophy of taste is on the menu

Plato – a restaurant on Milan’s Via Cesare Battisti – was named both to evoke the word “plate” and to celebrate the Greek philosopher who believed good, beautiful and true are comparable concepts.

According to Socrates’s most famous pupil, every man harbors a forgotten knowledge that must be reawakened with the help of philosophy.

And in a similar way, Plato Chic Superfood – full name of this designer restaurant – aims to “reawaken” people by pointing out the benefits of a balanced diet, the nutritional values of certain super foods, and how to build a healthy and well-balanced relationship with food.

Inspired by the Platonic identity between “good” and “truth”, Plato promotes a vision of food as a source of joy and wellbeing, elevated to the state of daily luxury.
