Mercanteinfiera’s 38th edition in Parma

From 5 to 13 October 2019, Fiere di Parma is hosting a new edition of Mercanteinfiera – the international festival dedicated to collectables, fashion, design, vintage furniture, antiques and retro items.

This year, the 45,000-square-meters dedicated to the Parma fair will also welcome two thematic exhibitions.

The first is “In her Shoes. A walk through the history of footwear”: a journey amongst outstanding examples in the history of creativity and fashion, but also of Made-in-Italy style. A short, interesting itinerary that introduces visitors to the Italian designers and craftsmen who left their mark on the international scene of a fashion industry that, to this day, considers Italy a leading source of inspiration.

The second exhibition is “The Bonanni Del Rio Collection: the Italian choice”, and is dedicated to the country’s masters of photography, from Gabriele Basilico to Ettore Sottsass, from Luigi Ghirri to Mimmo Jodice, from Ugo Mulas to Lino Nanni, and from Elio Sorci to Massimo Vitali, to mention but a few.

The 38th edition of Mercantinfiera will celebrate a number of leading figures in the world of shoe fashion and the footwear industry – including Alessandro Mendini, Osvaldo Borsani, Gio Ponti, Joe Colombo and Franco Albini.
