Distilleria Le Crode, distilling grappa according to tradition

Distilleria Le Crode – located along river Piave, between Valdobbiadene and Feltre – is one of the few remaining plants in Italy to uphold Veneto’s long-standing traditional grappa-making methods – indeed, it even uses steam-powered copper stills from the early 1900s.

The distillery clearly honors its own long history, during which artisanal knowledge has been passed along intact from generation to generation. Today, master distiller Vincenzo Agostini is the only heir of the historical value of Grappa Bellunese, once considered one of the best Italian grappas.

With resilience and patience, he continues to distill each excellent drop according to traditional methods. The process begins in the fall, after the grape harvest, strictly with fresh and perfectly fermented pomace. It is a slow and soft method. Once heads and tails are cut, fine Le Crode Grappa is ready to savor.
